International gold price driver: spot gold recovers to test 4,100 USD
Spot gold saw a strong rebound in early trade, first testing 4,100 USD/oz, then fluctuating around 4,046 USD/oz; currently closer to 4,000 USD/oz. Meanwhile, COMEX US gold closed up 43.90 USD to about 4,082.40 USD/oz the previous trading day.
Supporting factors include: US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's statement that US inflation risks have decreased; also, US private sector employment data came in below expectations, indicating a cooling labor market.
In addition, Hong Kong market gold early trade down 230 HKD to about 37,870 USD/oz.
